Brooklyn Burroughs, 16, is a student at the San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts, and one of the featured artists in the "Black Perspectives: A Celebration of Community, Family & Heritage" art exhibition at The Brooks Theater Gallery in Oceanside through March 26.
San Diego native Jeremy McQueen's award-winning ballet company produces original works that center Black voices but struggled to bring his ballets home. This week, the works will be performed here for the first time.
