you that you have mullen who died and another candidate who is in the hospital. well, it was actually pretty surprising that somebody passed away in buds training. it is not a common thing. while i was an instructor you learn about how many safety features that we put into every evolution. and during hell week, each student is evaluated by a physician at least once a day. and then also at the end of hell week, on friday, they are also, again, examined by a physician. so i m just really surprised that it would get this far or, you know, to where, you know, a passing, which is horrible. i can t even fathom what his family is going through. it s heartbreaking. but we are the toughest military
report this morning. the navy has released the name of the s.e.a.l. candidate who died last week after enduring the infamous training phase known as hell week. 24-year-old kyle mullen felt in after an under water exercise and died at a san diego hospital on friday. his cause of death is still under investigation. and there is another s.e.a.l. candidate who was also hospitalized after hell week. his condition is listed as stable. and joining us now to discuss this is paul anderson, a retired u.s. navy s.e.a.l., chief petty officer, former basic under water demolition s.e.a.l. training instructor. this course known as buds that s.e.a.l.s have to go through to become a s.e.a.l. paul, thank you so much for being with us. look, we re so sorry for the s.e.a.l. community. it s been a tough run here in the last few months. i wonder as we are looking at this and learning information about it, what does this tell
