(kala holiday) the hawaiian islands are one of the most isolated landmasses on the planet. and our two closest neighbouring landmasses are the mainland u.s., which is 2500 miles to the east of us and japan, which is about a little bit more than 3000 miles to the west of us. so we re surrounded by thousands of miles of ocean, smack in the centre of the pacific.
