City Manager Kent Cagle has conditionally appointed Public Works Director Danielle Singh to be the cityâs assistant city manager â a position that has been vacant since the resignation of David Ellison last fall.
In addition, the council will be asked to approve the appointment of Jeffrey Reynolds to succeed Singh in the top spot over Public Works. He currently serves as the departmentâs assistant director.
Certainly, promoting from within can be a solid strategy, as it rewards service to the city, acknowledges institutional knowledge and builds on current interdepartmental relationships.

The San Antonio International Airport said they will continue to require travelers to wear facial coverings in addition to implementing other safety measures at the airport, according to a release.
The airport made the announcement on Monday afternoon as they prepare for Spring Break beginning this week for many San Antonio schools.

SAN ANTONIO – Spring break is just around the corner for many area schools and the San Antonio International Airport says it will continue to enforce COVID-19 safety measures enacted at the start of the coronavirus pandemic.
According to a statement by airport officials, the airport does not expect as many travelers as it has seen in years past. However, Jesus H. Saenz, Jr., director of airports for the San Antonio Airport System, said travelers are still expected to observe the safety protocols.

Even after a year of overall turmoil for the aviation industry, the San Antonio International Airport has two new awards to brag about.
On Monday, the local airport announced in a news release that it won the world s best airport award for its customer service from the Airports Council International World. The council revealed its 2020 winners after reviewing passenger surveys that were taken on the day the traveler boarded its fight.
The airport earned an award for Best Airport with 5-15 million passengers in North America and for Best hygiene measure by region (North America).
