SAN ANGELO As efforts to revitalize downtown San Angelo continue with new landscaping, sidewalks and street lights, visitors to the area will soon see something else novel: a giant clock.
On Tuesday, May 18, 2021, the San Angelo City Council approved construction of a Washington Four Dial Street Clock under its consent agenda. Council members authorized City Manager Daniel Valenzuela to negotiate a licensing agreement, allowing a private entity to install the clock within a street right-of-way.
The project is privately funded by 1 West Concho LLC, represented by San Angelo businessman Lee Pfluger, and will have no cost to San Angelo taxpayers, city documents stated.
