Oct 11 — MIC president Tan Sri SA Vigneswaran is keen to contest the Sungai Siput parliamentary seat in Perak, which was the stronghold of former late president Tun S. Samy Vellu in the upcoming general election
KUALA LUMPUR: MIC, now reduced to just one MP in the outgoing Dewan Rakyat, is bent on retaking the Sungai Siput parliamentary seat, which was once the fortress of its former president Tun S. Samy Vellu, who died recently.
KUALA LUMPUR: Many people may know him as Works Minister, while others remember him as MIC president, but to close friends and former colleagues like Tun Dr Ling Liong Sik, the late Tun S. Samy Vellu was a man of many talents and a great sense of humour.
