Samuel Haskell IV, the son of a powerful Hollywood exec, charged with the brutal killings of his wife and her parents as he allegedly disposed of some of their remains in a dumpster, appeared shirtless in court Friday morning in his first public appearance since his arrest.
Investigators are looking into whether an LAPD desk officer turned away several day laborers that reported slashing suspect Sam Haskell IV paid them $500 to dispose of bags of body parts.
Samuel Haskell IV, the son of a powerful Hollywood exec, was hit with three counts of murder, which could lead to a life prison sentence if convicted, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office said.
"He seemed very paranoid, and then he sat in the far back of the restaurant away from everybody," a childhood friend reportedly said. "So that was just weird, even for Sam."
Samuel Haskell IV, who was arrested in connection to the murder of his wife after dismembered body parts were found in his home and a dumpster, had an obsession with deadly weapons and martial arts, friends claim.
