An infraction in the brain caused the death of the ASHA worker who died in Andhra Pradesh s Guntur days after receiving the Covid-19 vaccine in January. Identified as Vijaya Lakshmi, the ASHA worker breathed her last on January 24, five days after she was vaccinated against coronavirus.

Amaravati: An infraction in the brain caused the death of the 44-year-old ASHA worker in Guntur on January 24 and it was not related to COVID-19 vaccine she had taken days earlier, the post-mortem report said on Tuesday.
Colleagues of the 44-year old worker had earlier alleged that she died following the coronavirus vaccination, though Guntur Collector Samuel Anand had said the exact cause of the death would be known only after post-mortem and maintained there was not a single adverse event reported in the district.

An Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA) worker in Andhra Pradesh died on Sunday, with fellow workers alleging that she died after receiving the coronavirus vaccine. The incident took place at the Government General Hospital (GGH) in Guntur.
The exact cause of the woman s death would be revealed only after a post-mortem, Guntur district collector Samuel Anand said, but maintained that not a single Adverse Event Following Immunisation was reported in the district. So far, 10,099 healthcare staff in the area have been inoculated.
ASHA workers staged a demonstration in front of the GGH demanding that a compensation of Rs 50 lakh be paid to the deceased s family.
