Epic Games Influencers Get Free Fortnite Swag

Free Fortnite Continues Into 2021 Epic Games is continuing the Free Fortnite trend going into 2021, with influencers recently receiving care packages themed around the movement. The package is a minimalistic white design similar to what Apple products would come in, but Epic Games influencers are receiving a black bomber jacket adorned with ‘Free Fortnite’ in rainbow colours, as well as a Samsung Galaxy S7 tablet. Fortnite is available right now for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Mac, PC, and Android, with Apple still blocking the iOS version. “Fortnite was named the Samsung Galaxy Store Game of the Year for 2020,” said Epic Games. “In celebration, we’ve teamed up with Samsung to send you a special box of #FreeFortnite gear. Epic Still Trolling Apple With Free Fortnite Campaign

Geeky Gadgets 6:06 am Apple and Epic are in a legal battle over Fortnite Battle Royale. Epic does not want to pay Apple a cut for their in-app purchases. At least not a huge cut. So Epic has gone on to launch several campaigns targeting companies like Apple and Google. The latest from Epic is a “Free Fortnite” campaign where they are sending social media influencers a package containing a jacket and a Samsung tablet. The box is designed in white and is said to resemble the packaging that Apple uses for its products. The jacket also has a logo that is very similar to Apple, and also features rainbow stripes that Apple has used in its logo in the past. The “Free Fortnite” phrase also seems to be designed using a font similar to the ones that Apple has used. This fight is getting personal.

Samsung takes a shot at Apple in an Epic way; Here s what is happening

For Samsung, this partnership with Epic seems profitable in two ways. First, it allows them to make fun of Apple, which is considered as one of its arch rivals in the tech industry. And second, it also acts as a selling point for Galaxy smartphones. For those unaware, Fortnite is also not available on Google s Play Store. It can, however be downloaded from Samsung s Galaxy app store, which is only available via Samsung s handsets. Also read: This is not the first time that Epic has tried to provoke Apple. During the August Fortnite tournament it handed out the same free Fortnite logo hat along with a new jacket in the same rainbow colour scheme and type phase which was reminiscent of Apple s classic rainbow logo. The company has also created a parody video of Apple s “1984” Mac advertisement.

This care package is the latest in a series of stunts pulled by the gaming company that seeks to turn public opinion against Apple, the company that Epic Games is currently suing. Epic did recently receive a win in the lawsuit, as the judge has ordered that Apple will have to hand over internal documents from Senior Vice President Craig Federighi.

Epic Games Sending Free Fortnite Goodies to Influencers

Apple’s removal of Fortnite from the iOS App Store is reportedly costing Epic Games more than $26 million per month. The latter did try and ask the court to put Fortnite back on the App Store by filing a preliminary injunction but that was rejected by the court. Following all this drama, Apple also ended up countersuing Epic Games for “willful” and “brazen” breach of contract, with the company also claiming that this was all a “pre-planned media blitz” from the game developer. Epic Games and Apple will fight it out in court in July 2021 over the removal of Fortnite from the App Store and the violation of guidelines by the former. Until then, it is unlikely that Fortnite will be restored on the App Store by Apple until Epic Games changes its stance and complies with the guidelines.
