Samsung has launched the 980 NVMe SSD, the company’s first consumer drive without DRAM in India. The Samsung 980 SSD is available at an MRP of Rs 6,499 for the 250GB, Rs 8,999 for the 500GB and Rs 16,999 for the 1TB.
Previously, DRAM-less designs have presented a disadvantage in speed without the short-term memory at hand for fast access to data. Samsung’s 980 utilizes Host Memory Buffer (HMB) technology, which links the drive directly to the host processor’s DRAM to overcome any performance drawbacks.

Samsung 980 NVMe M.2 SSD has been launched in India as the first DRAM-less offering from the South Korean tech giant. It replaces the 970 EVO NVMe M.2 SSD. The storage drive is also cheaper than its predecessor and is also claimed to be 56 percent more energy efficient as well. It is offered in 250GB, 500GB and 1TB versions. The low price point is primarily due to the DRAM-less design of the storage drive. Pricings for Samsung 980 NVMe M.2 SSD go
