The raids were conducted after the CID received information that some important documents related to the financial fraud were hidden in two flats located in Narhe. The CID team has sealed the properties after taking the documents in their possession.

It has been learnt that Mahesh Motewar, the main accused in the case, had donated gold ornaments to Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Trust. The CID investigation has further revealed that Motewar, who had duped many commoners in the chit fund scam, had bought the ornaments with the fraudulent money. The Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Trust cooperated fully with the police investigation, after they were ordered by the charity commissioner to hand over the ornaments to the CID.
