Woman, 3 children escape safely from burning home in Jay
A 66-year-old woman was taken to Farmington hospital Tuesday night to be evaluated for smoke inhalation.

JAY A 66-year-old woman was taken by ambulance to a hospital Tuesday night to be evaluated for smoke inhalation after a fire broke out in a bedroom at mobile home at 14 Pleasant Drive in North Jay, Fire Rescue Chief Mike Booker said Wednesday.
The brother of homeowner, Sammie Mckenzie, was going by and saw smoke coming from the home at about 7:30 p.m., he said.
He went in to get a woman and three children, ages 5, 6, and 7, out, he said. The homeowner’s brother reported the fire, he said.
