A good sign, the oil and gas industry has started to pick up.  When that happens, the housing market in West Texas picks up, too.  In Midland, home sales have more than doubled since January. “We are seeing lots of people come in, Conoco Phillips is bringing in about 150 families, Apache, Chevron, people are coming from Oklahoma, Dallas, Lubbock and Houston,” Tracy Farrow, Legacy Real Estate Agent, said.

Ector County seeing more fentanyl-related deaths

On average, the county responds to about 6 opioid drug-related overdoses a day. Author: Sammi Steele Updated: 6:39 PM CDT April 20, 2021 ECTOR COUNTY, Texas Ector County is seeing an increase in fentanyl-related deaths. According to the Drug Enforcement Agency, counterfeit pain pills laced with fentanyl, are flooding the illegal drug market.   The opioid comes in the form of a little blue or green pill, marked M-30. They are small and look like your typical prescription but the effects on the human body are huge. Last year, there were 10 fentanyl-related deaths in the county and there have already been a few this year.
