Sarangi in NCDC program; promotes fish co-ops Addressing a meeting at Chandpur in Odisha, Union Minister Pratap Sarangi called for development of fisheries related infrastructure in the state and formation of cooperatives in the sector, reports Statesman. The minister said technologically enabled cooperatives could help the state realize great potential for development of the fisheries sector. The program was jointly held by Laxmanrao Inamdar National Academy for Cooperative Research and Development (LINAC), NCDC and Department of Fisheries, Ministry of FAHD, at Chandipur. Besides, Sarangi, Sundeep Kumar Nayak, Managing Director, NCDC, Dr J.K. Jena, Deputy Director General, Fisheries, ICAR, Sambit Tripathi, CEO, Livelihood alternative and Shardul Jadhav, Regional Director, NCDC, Odisha spoke at the meeting.

Business Professor Recognized by Association for Information Systems

Ed Brennen Amit Deokar, an associate professor of Operations and Information Systems in the Manning School of Business, has been recognized as a Distinguished Member (Cum Laude) by the Association for Information Systems (AIS). With 4,400 members representing 1,951 higher education institutions in 98 countries, AIS is the largest and most prestigious international professional association for academics involved in research and teaching of information systems.
