new shelter with
facilities for 100 girls and 10 elderly
Around 60 differently abled girls are all set to move into a visually impaired-friendly new facility courtesy Samarthanam, a national award-winning non-governmental organisation. The four-floor building can accommodate around 100 visually challenged girls and 10 elderly people.
“A few years ago, we demolished an old building to make space for the new facility. All these years, differently abled girls and elderly people were sheltered at a working women’s hostel. Now, we are shifting these girls to the new facility constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 6.5 crore,” said founder of Samarthanam Trust for Disabled,
