Three Bandra residents, who had filed a public interest litigation (PIL) in the Bombay High Court, have sought the court’s permission to amend their petition and add additional information received by them under the RTI.
The proposed underground parking plan under Pushpa Narsee Park in Juhu has been scrapped following opposition from local residents, according to BJP MLA, Ameet Satam. The MLA will now replace the proposal with a multi-utility complex, featuring an underground parking lot on a plot of land that is designated as a municipal garage. The new facility will include a gymnasium, banquet hall, and auditorium. Samarth Das, an urban designer and architect, praised Satam for the participatory approach he adopted in creating the new plan.
The petitioners sought that the BMC should be directed not to proceed with the tendering process to construct an underground parking lot at Raosaheb Patwardhan Park in Bandra (West).
