Ranchi: With Class X and XII board examinations approaching, attendance of students who will be appearing for the examinations has improved in private and government schools across the state. The state government had last month allowed resumption of offline classes for these students to help them prepare for their exams.
Director (secondary education) Jata Shankar Choudhary said attendance in government school has picked up with each passing day. He stated, “Overall attendance in schools rose from 20% in the third week of December to between 40% and 50% now. Parents’ confidence about sending children is also gradually increasing.”
Ashutosh Singh, principal of Amar Sahid Thakur Vishwanath Sahdeo Zila School, said around 150 of 350 students in Class X and Class XII were present at school on Monday, much better than the 25% in the initial days.
