Pulaski County Clerk Linda Burnett has named Samantha Owens as the office s chief deputy.
Owens, who has been with the clerk s office for 13 years, is currently serving as the manager of the Department for Motor Vehicle Licensing (MVL) and oversaw its relocation from the county courthouse to the former BB&T branch on North Main Street, which officially opened last July. Really she has been acting as my go-to person for close to three years now, Burnett said, adding she asked Owens to become chief deputy in November. She s been instrumental to our office. She s learned a lot of the different things we do here and is very reliable.

A man in Beavercreek, Ohio, wanted to help people through these challenging times, so he bought $4,000 in gift cards from Dunkin’ to pay for strangers’ meals.
According to store manager Samantha Owens, his gift card donation was used to pay for “food, breakfast sandwiches, coffee, you name it. It was all free.”
The man who wishes to remain nameless said he wanted to pay for everyone’s orders until the money ran out.
And, he got his wish as more than 300 customers were able to enjoy a free food order.
Samantha said the man just wanted to “pay it forward and this was his best way to pay it forward.”
