USWNT set for pre-Olympics friendly with 5th-ranked Sweden on April 10
Colorado’s Lindsey Horan and Sophia Smith available, Mallory Pugh running out of time to return, and Jaelin Howell returns to FSU.

The United States Women’s National Team (USWNT) will face off against top-ranked Sweden in Stockholm’s Friends Arena on Saturday, April 10 at 11 a.m. MT. It will the team’s first match on foreign turf this calendar year. In FIFA’s most current ranking of women’s national teams, Sweden is in 5th place.
The U.S. is coming off of their fourth SheBelieves Cup title, which they won with relative ease in Orlando just two months ago. The Stars and Stripes are the first back-to-back champions in the tournament’s six-year history and the first team to not allow a single goal over the course of the competition.

U.S. Women’s National Team (USWNT) Head Coach Vlatko Andonovski has announced his 23-player roster for the 6th annual SheBelieves Cup. The event will be held at Exploria Stadium in Orlando, Florida, on February 18, 21, and 24.
Four Coloradoans will participate in the pre-tournament camp that commences on February 8th. Lindsey Horan (Rush Colorado SC) and Sophia Smith (Real Colorado SC) have been named to the 23-player roster. Both were in the January camp; however, Smith sustained an injury before the first of two games against Colombia. Horan played in both fixtures and scored in the second match.

U.S. Women’s National Team (USWNT) open their 2021 season on Monday evening in downtown Orlando when they host FIFA 26th-ranked Colombia. It will be the Lady Yank’s first game in the U.S. in 313 days. Team USA last played at home on March 11, 2020, against Japan in Frisco, Texas during the annual SheBelieves Cup Tournament.
The USWNT is 11-0-0 start under the direction of Head Coach Vlatko Andonovski. The affable manager has called up 27 players for the annual January camp, which is also being held in Orlando.
