NORRISTOWN â A Pottstown man will face the jury that will decide his fate in October in connection with the fatal shooting of another man in the Bright Hope housing community.
The trial for Armani Cortez Rhedrick, 22, will begin on Oct. 11, according to an order filed by Montgomery County Judge William R. Carpenter. The trial is slated to last five days. The trial date was scheduled after a conference between the judge and the lawyers in the case.
âThis date is consistent with the business of the court in dealing with the COVID judicial emergency and its aftermath. There shall be no continuance,â Carpenter wrote in the order.

A 17-year-old youth has been ordered to stand trial in a bowling alley shooting near Philadelphia last month that left one person dead and four others hospitalized.
A Montgomery County district court judge ordered Jamel Barnwell of East Lansdowne to trial in county court Monday on first- and third-degree murder, attempted murder, aggravated assault, reckless endangering and weapons charges.
Authorities said that he and two other males entered Our Town Alley, formerly Facenda Whitaker Lanes, at about 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 20 in East Norriton, which is about 23 miles northwest of Philadelphia. They allege that the three got into a physical altercation with another group, and the teen pulled a gun and opened fire.
