Premier Division Longford Town have unveiled the double signing of Shamrock Rovers pair Dean Williams and Darragh Nugent on loan until the end of the season.
Williams and Nugent join De Town who have had a mini-clearout in recent days, with Sam Verdon, Luke Dennison, Aaron Bolger and Joe Gorman all departing.
Meanwhile, bit-part player Thomas McLaughlin has also left the club.
Williams joins Daire Doyle’s charges having struggled to feature as much as he would have liked to in recent months at Tallaght Stadium.
The promising forward was previously on loan at Longford’s First Division rivals Athlone Town, and also had a brief stint at Bray Wanderers on loan in 2019.

Not for the first time in his career, Chris Forrester stole the show, capping it with a brace of delightful goals, as league leaders St Patrick s Athletic maintained their unbeaten start to the season.
After a lacklustre opening 45 minutes at Richmond Park, Saints came alive after the interval to all but seal their sixth win of the campaign with two goals inside seven minutes of the restart.
A fifth defeat in six games, and without a goal from play during that run, leaves bottom side Longford facing a long season ahead.
