AUCKLAND and TORONTO – International producer, distributor and channel operator, Blue Ant Media said today it is selling control of its New Zealand-based, international factual production company, NHNZ to Dame Julie Christie (above). Blue Ant will retain a “significant minority interest” and work with Christie, who will be CEO of NHNZ Worldwide, in a new partnership. The production company will continue to be based in Dunedin, NZ. Financial terms were not disclosed. Blue Ant Media will continue to own NHNZ’s existing catalogue of series and documentaries and Sam Sniderman, Blue Ant’s co-president, global content production, has joined NHNZ Worldwide’s board.

Blue Ant Media’s Beach House Pictures has further expanded its business operations with the acquisition of a majority stake of Tokyo-based prodco Vesuvius Pictures and the appointment of Felix Feng as general manager, Beach House Pictures China.
