The second round of CARES Act funding is being delivered to non-profits working to help people in the Fredericksburg region during the pandemic.
Fredericksburg City recently received a second allocation from the CARES Act Community Development Block Grant-Coronavirus Funds in the amount of $206,000. This funding comes through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development will be used for various community coronavirus-related development programs.
The first will be for emergency housing assistance through the Central Virginia Housing Coalition, which has seen an increased demand for rent assistance during the pandemic not just in the number of requests but in the amount needed for each household. The coalition received $80,000 from the city from the first CDBG-CV funding allocation.
