Student Life sat down with the Atlanta-area native to discuss the Bears’ 1,000th program win this past weekend, playing alongside five other first-years in the team, and who she would label as the “team mom.”
Reverend Dr. Otis Moss Jr., spoke about interfaith leadership and social justice as the keynote speaker of WashU’s Interfaith Week, Feb 8th. Moss drew on the scholarship of African American poets, businessmen, and pioneers, and the similarities between music and democracy.
Together, we would soon be enthralled in a tale that pondered what it meant to trade the youthful exuberance of the promising ingénue for the stress, upsets, and nuisance of a hostile work environment. In short, we would learn what it meant to be “pressed.”
“To focus on this win streak is exciting, but it’s not our goal,” Brooks said. “We just want to win every game we can, get better every day as a team, and play for each other.”
