Earlier this week, Apple announced a new health sharing feature that gives patients the reins in sharing consumer-generated health data with their doctors, family and friends.
Apple has been working on giving patients more access to their data for years. In 2018, the company rolled out Health Records on iOS, which aggregates existing user-generated data in their Health app with data from their EHR – if the user is a patient at a participating hospital.
This new feature turns the tables – instead of patients accessing medical data generated by the health system, the patient is in the driver s seat, sharing their own information. This information includes everything from mobility trends to heart data. Additionally, users are able to share lab results with those of their choosing.
The 200-year old wine is the sweet and nectar-like Grand Constance 1821
An incredibly rare bottle of wine, once destined to be enjoyed by Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte, is to go under the hammer at Christie’s later this month as part of the Cape Fine + Rare auction. The 200-year old wine is the sweet and nectar-like Grand Constance 1821, made in Constantia near Cape Town.
Napoleon was fabled to drink a bottle of the stuff every day and after his death in May 1821, his allocation was liberated for general sale. It’s thought that fewer than a dozen bottles of this vintage still exist and, with a reserve price of £5,000, this lot is expected to attract considerable interest.
Finding Cool Sunshine: South Africa

The pandemic banjaxes carefully laid plans, changing or canceling them without notice. Since the rise of COVID-19, a trip to South Africa has been untenable due to travel and quarantine restrictions, and as I write this on the anniversary of the UK lockdown, who knows when I can return? Hopefully soon, because I miss the achingly blue skies, the dramatic landscapes, the exotic flora and fauna, and not least the people, who despite hardships all seem to have smiles on their faces. For all the media headlines portraying South Africa as a cauldron of dangerous variants, from the perspective of winemakers in the Cape, life continues pretty much as normal given the circumstances. Without wishing to diminish the impact of the virus, the population of South Africa has always faced huge problems. Everything is relative; this is just another obstacle to overcome. The biggest impact has been the gover

Is wine in cans any good? Yes. And it’s getting better.
Outdoor socialising is set to become as big a part of this spring as it was of last summer, so perhaps you’d like to splurge and add a glass of wine to the meet-up? If so, I have just the thing: wine in a can.
There are a lot of upsides to canned wines. Light and compact, they are very portable and slip easily into a handbag or a coat pocket (though the latter may only work if your style standards have deteriorated as far as mine over the last year, and you now consider a cagoule or puffa to be quite smart if it’s not covered in mud).
