The number of candidates running for a seat on the Missoula City Council this election season grew over the weekend, and with the filing period now closed, voters will have several choices in each of the city's six wards.
The mayor’s race closed with five official entries, including incumbent Mayor Jordan Hess and City Councilor Mike Nugent. The pair is joined by Andrea Davis, Brandi Atanasoff and Shawn Knopp.
Two of the 18 remaining candidates are current members of the Missoula City Council, including Jordan Hess and Mike Nugent; one is a former member of City Council in Patrick Weasel Head; and one is a former candidate for mayor in Jacob Elder.
