Many Australians will go into debt to afford Christmas

The Salvation Army s Major Bruce Harmer says Australians have a “stark choice” between paying their power bill and putting food on the table as 28 per cent of Australians are "going into debt” to be able to afford Christmas. “Mums and Dads really do care for their children, and they want their Christmas to be special,” Major Harmer told Sky News Australia. “We’re so thankful that we’re in a position where we can help put that food on the table and put those gifts under the tree this Christmas.”
