Food insecurity is quickly on the rise across Massachusetts, hitting a level that food providers say mirrors what they saw during the thick of the pandemic.
Mystic Valley Corps in Malden to close

The Salvation Army Massachusetts Division announced that it will close its Mystic Valley Corps in Malden as of July 1.
During this change, Salvation Army services remain available to residents from Malden, Medford, Melrose, Everett and surrounding communities. Emergency food assistance will continue without interruption from the current location at 213-219 Main St. in Malden until the end of June when the Corps vacates its current premises.
The Salvation Army is the nation’s largest provider of social services. Present in nearly every zip code in America, its Corps Community Centers operate in suburban and rural communities and are designed to provide comprehensive emergency assistance for individuals and families.
