Safeway store manager Krystle Whiteley presents cheque to Salvation Army s Arthur Heathcote.
More support for the Salvation Army in Fort Frances – this time, coming from Safeway.
The store collected $3,798.24 in donations from customers during a campaign in December.
Store Manager Krystle Whiteley is pleased with that support.
“The community was very receptive as always. They showed up to support one another and the families in need over the holidays, and we were just more than happy to be a part of that,” says Whiteley.
The Salvation Army’s Auxiliary Captain Arthur Heathcote is appreciative to those who contributed.
“The community is not only concerned about homelessness, but they’re willing to do something about it too, and that’s in the very tangible way where we are able to see this $3,700 came out of the customers’ pockets. That demonstrates care,” says Heathcote.
