fission explosion device which is a little simpler and they ve mastered so far. at the same time, though, north korea could have potentially taken a couple of steps further and developed a little bit more of a complicated device. that device, though, would be more of a one-stage thermonuclear device, which is a lot easier to build compared to a two-stage fission/fusion but a little more complicated than their past models. however, brooke hang on. can i just jump in? i m sorry. trying to follow you through the phases. when you re looking, clearly you are quite bright on all of this, when you re looking at all the satellite imagery, what are you looking for? okay, brooke, just a quick note. we just received our first batch of satellite imagery a couple of hours ago. it took us a fair amount of time to get those in. at the moment, i was able to peek at one image before running here, and what we re looking for is activity relating to signatures at the site. so what i can tell you for
typical atomic bomb and a hydrogen bomb. let s look at the possibilities here. first of all, scientifically, this is based on fission, splitting of atoms. this is based on fusion, combining of at oxes. either one releases a lot of energy out there. an atom bomb is a single explosion. it is complex to make, but comparatively it is not nearly as complicated as a hydrogen bomb, which is a two-stage explosion which is essentially an atomic explosion that then triggers this fusion explosion over here. this is much more complicated. so if they have xhefed it, it means they re further along in their technology that people thought and they re obtaining things people didn t think they could get. plus, an atomic bomb is bigger physically as a bomb. it s heavier, harder to move around and produces a smaller blast in atomic terms whereas the hydrogen bomb can actually be made smaller and produce a bigger blast. this means that you re talking about something that has a better chance of being on top
moment, through satellite imagery, is that i was able to determine that the test probably was not undertaken using the east portal, which has been closed for several years now. that s where they undertook the 2006 test. but there s a lot of activity or signatures relating to activity such as movement of trucks, cars and personnel at the other two portals at the pung ary site. we re talking about the west portal and southportal. so we have been up all night and we have been working all day. we will be soon releasing our satellite imagery analysis of the pung ary site and hopefully will be able to give you more details on that. sarena, research analyst at the institute for science and international security, thank you very much. thank you, brooke. coming up next, making a murderer. this is a netflix documentary hit that has turned into calls for justice for a man convicted of murder. but nancy grace says not so fast. in fact, she s not buying it at
the republican presidential candidate had tweeted, quote, i don t know samuel l. jackson to the best of my knowledge doesn t play golf with him and thinks he does too many commercials. boring. not a fan. trump is referencing an interview that samuel l. jackson did initially with united airlines magazine where he says trump isn t trustworthy on the course. last night the actor was on with seth meyers. seth meyers asked him about this, and here s samuel l. jackson s response. you claim here you have met him. yeah, i ve met him a lot. you played golf with him. i played golf with him. i actually played golf with him with anthony anderson one day. gotcha. and we were all playing together. we clearly saw him hook a ball into a lake at trump national in jersey. his caddie told him he found it. that was the caddie soaking wet when he sewed this? no. he just took off running. next thing we hear, we got it,
them anyway, but i have a lot of other places. i think i m going to win pennsylvania as an example, which they don t count on winning. i think i have a real good shot at winning new york. now, how big is new york? does he believe this is his? he does. he s more confident than ever. we interviewed him over the summer, and i asked him, are you going to be the nominee? he was actually winning at that point. he said, that would be too p presums sumptuous. he s been on top of the polls for six months. he shid have some confidence. he s saying he is going to close this out. winning iowa would be big because he has a huge lead in new hampshire. certainly the establishment in washington is getting very nervous with the two front-runners, cruz and trump, because they re not fund of either one of them. it is fun to watch it all play out. bob cusack and deceive lad ick, thank you both so much. speaking of donald trump, he
