After having the catalytic converter stolen from their bus for the second time in just over a year, the executive director of a Moncton charity is at a loss of how to deter thieves.
A string of copper-wire thefts in the Oromocto and Fredericton regions since September left residents without some TV, internet and phone services for periods of time.
Public Safety Minister Kris Austin said during the legislative assembly on Tuesday, he will be introducing amendments to the Salvage Dealers Licensing Act which will make it harder to sell stolen catalytic converters and other commonly stolen goods like plumber’s lead, brass valves, copper, lead flashing and copper wire.
