KUALA LUMPUR: Salutica Bhd has received an unusual market activity (UMA) query from Bursa Malaysia Securities Bhd following a sharp rise in the counter’s share price and volume recently.
Bursa Malaysia opened slightly higher on Wednesday (May 10) but subsequently retreated due to mild profit-taking in selected heavyweights, at the same time tracking the losses on Wall Street overnight as investors trade in a cautious mode ahead of key inflation reports later this week.
Bursa Malaysia ended the morning trading session higher on Tuesday (April 25), as bargain hunting pushed the key index up. At the lunch break, the FBM KLCI was 1.08 points higher at 1,423.19, from last Thursday’s close at 1,422.11.
Bursa Malaysia opened lower on Wednesday (April 19) due to the possibility of yet another interest rate hike by the US Federal Reserve during the next Federal Open Market Committee meeting in early May, said an analyst.
