47abc February 13, 2021 DELMARVA- Love is in the air and with Valentines Day being tomorrow Delmarva businesses are preparing for the big day, but with some changes due to the pandemic. “We are definitely seeing more people shopping for flowers and I think that’s because people can not meet in person and I think at Valentines Day this year we are seeing not a lot of people are going to go out,” Shailinn Messer, a Kitty’s Flowers Sales Department Employee, said. Kitty’s Flowers, in Salisbury, said they are shocked at the amount of people wanting flowers now more than ever.

Salted Vines Vineyard shows off their new wine in honor of Sippin with Sloths events

47abc January 13, 2021 FRANKFORD, Del.- Salted Vines Vineyard had an event Wednesday to show off their new wine, which was inspired by some cute animals. The winery and Barn Hill Preserve have teamed up for an event called “Sippin with Sloths” in the past and on Wednesday they hosted another one of these events. During the event, people can wine taste, while hanging out with sloths. But this event was special as they showed off their new wine called “Lower Slower Delaware.” The wine was made in honor of their sloth events, since they have been such a hit. “We always like to come up with new and interesting things, especially for our area which is growing and just truly booming,” Katie Duke, the general manager at Salted Vines Vineyard, said.

January 6, 2021 Salted Vines will host Sippin’ with Sloths events Jan. 13 and 27 at its vineyard near Frankford. SUBMITTED PHOTO Salted Vines Vineyard & Winery will again host its Sippin’ with Sloths events from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 13 and 27. Paired with Barn Hill Preserve, Salted Vines provides a unique experience for adults 21 and older to enjoy some wine and snacks while chilling out with sloths in a safe environment. Reservations for one of the upcoming event dates must be made in advance on the Barn Hill Preserve website, barnhillpreserve.com/delaware. Salted Vines has crafted a special wine for this event made from the grape varietal named for Delaware. This new wine has been given the name Lower Slower Delaware, representing the local nickname for Sussex County with a nod to the beloved, slow-moving sloths. The wine release will take place at the Jan. 13 event for registered attendees, and the public release will be from 12 to 6 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 1
