Kilwinning crime: Woman assaulted in her car by stranger

A woman in Kilwinning was left with injuries after she was assaulted whilst within her own car by a stranger and then had items stolen from inside by another perpetrator in a sickening incident. The brazen robbery and assault occurred in broad daylight on May 12 around 11.30am when the 41-year-old was sitting within her parked car on Montgomerie Terrace in the town. Another woman, a stranger to the victim reached into the car and assaulted her before another stranger, a man, reached in and grabbed belongings. DC Robertson of Saltcoats CID said: “This incident occurred in broad daylight and left the victim with minor injuries and understandably upset.

Irvine crime: Three arrested for attempted fraud on vulnerable residents

Three Dalry men have been arrested for attempted fraud after targeting vulnerable and elderly residents in Irvine. The men aged 38, 37 and 24, were arrested and charged by officers after police received a call from concerned bank staff after one of the elderly victims attempted to withdraw a four figure sum as payment. The men attended at a number of addresses on Greenbank Court, Irvine, offering to undertake a variety of gardening jobs. Those that agreed to the work were overcharged with the work being of a poor quality. All three men have been held in custody to appear at Kilmarnock Sherriff Court today.
