Two hundred years is a long time. We are here because of those who came before us. In a series of articles, we will look close to home and discover Saline County, Missouri, history. Wilton Springs drew crowds of picnickers from all the neighboring counties. There was rarely a day during picnic weather that groups didn’t descend on Wilton Springs for a day’s outing. Local boys took advantage of this fact to set up concession stands to make “spending money.”
