President Muhammadu Buhari’s nominee as commissioner of the National Population Commission, NPC, Dr. Saadu Alanamu has been remanded in prison over an alleged fraud involving N182, 369, 625.00.
Alanamu was among the 23 nominees, President Muhammadu Buhari forwarded to the senate for confirmation.
In August 2017, Alanamu, a former chairman of the governing council of Kwara State Polytechnic, was named as one of the nominees to the board of the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related Offences Commission (ICPC) by Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, who was acting president at the time. But he was later dropped after reports revealed that he was being investigated for corruption.
