Punjab govt acknowledges services of Jahangir Tareen for PTI

LAHORE: The Punjab government Thursday said Jahangir Tareen is an important pillar of the PTI and had worked hard to form the government of Chief Minister Usman Buzdar.
While speaking on Geo News, Special Assistant to CM Punjab Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said Prime Minister Imran Khan had come to power on the manifesto of the supremacy of law and a corruption-free Pakistan.
Awan, while responding to a question on accountability, said all those PTI leaders and ministers who were accused of corruption had returned to their positions after getting themselves cleared from the charges.

ISLAMABAD/LAHORE: The Punjab government has reportedly issued a list of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) members who were in contact with the party s former secretary-general Jahangir Khan Tareen.
Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar was set to hand over the list to Prime Minister Imran Khan after he attended a Council of Common Interests (CCI) meeting with him. According to Geo News, the prime minister will make the final decision on the fate of the PTI members, the sources said.
Meanwhile, PTI MNA Raja Riaz, who came to the banking court with Jahangir Tareen, said the former secretary-general had played an important role in getting Prime Minister Imran Khan the vote of confidence. Raja Riaz said Tareen had formed the Punjab government and (due to his absence) the PTI was suffering .

Leaders belonging to the ruling PTI in Punjab including MPAs on Wednesday accompanied estranged party leader Jahangir Tareen to a banking court where he sought an extension in the pre-arrest bail granted to him and his son in the fraud cases filed by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) against them last month.
They included Raja Riaz, Lala Tahir Randhawa, Salman Naeem, Ghulam Bibi Bharwana, Khurram Leghari, Abdul Hai Dasti and provincial minister Noman Langrial.
The court adjourned the hearing till April 10 for further arguments in the case. The next date was fixed as the banking court judge was unavailable during the hearing.

PTI Punjab MPA Salman Naeem said on Thursday that he believes his party will not be able to form government in Punjab again.
âWe represent Punjab and it appears that the PTI will never be able to form the government in Punjab again,â Naeem told SAMAA TVâs Kiran Naz.
Naeem contested the 2018 election from Multan as an independent candidate and later joined the PTI. He is among the Punjab lawmakers who are loyal to disgruntled PTI leader Jahangir Tareen.
