The Connecticut Museum of Culture and History has received 2 million dollars in federal funding to expand history and civics education for Connecticut students.
Nichole Pitruzzello of Rocky Hill, CT, an experienced educator with credentials in curriculum, instruction and history, will focus on elevating the visibility of Connecticut’s Kid Governor®, increasing the number of schools participating across the state, prioritizing equity and outreach to underserved schools, and deepening student and teacher engagement. h
Petulia Blake melted at the surprise sight of an old photograph of herself in the Connecticut Old State House’s exhibit, Blake’s family herself, nine siblings and two parents emigrated from Jamaica and settled in Hartford between 1990-91. Along with other families, their story is featured in the exhibit’s section on immigrants.
