Police are appealing ROBBERS struck at convenience stores in Leigh and Hindley on Monday night threatening staff and stealing cash and cigarettes. The robberies took place within 90 minutes of each other at a McColls in Hindley and a Spar in Leigh. At around 8.30pm on Monday, December 21, three people entered McColls on Atherton Road, Hindley. At around 9.55pm, three people then entered the Spar on Firs Lane, Leigh. On both occasions, staff were threatened and the offenders left the scene with cash and cigarettes in a silver Vauxhall Insignia. At around 10.15pm, the vehicle was recovered from the West Leigh Lane and Pickley Green area.
