Nickelodeon, 10 to film Taylor s Island in Queensland

To screen on Nickelodeon in 2022, it marks the first-ever partnership between the two broadcasters, as part of ViacomCBS. Produced by Fremantle, with major production investment from Screen Australia, the 20 x 22-minute action-packed comedy follows Taylor Young, a girl who is fascinated by the phenomena surrounding a mysterious island, ever since her uncle’s disappearance there. With a gang of friends, including Nori, a wisecracking local rebel; Meesha, a tough-as-nails thrill seeker; Ellis, a hypochondriac and born worrier; and Taylor’s stepsister Lila, an aspiring vlogger, Taylor is determined to get to the bottom of the secrets and inexplicable events of the island. Yu Na and Min Park want more excitement in their lives, but they don’t realise just how crazy their lives will become when they discover their once unremarkable parents are actually international spies and have disappeared in suspicious circumstances! The series from Aquarius Films is created by Justine Flynn ( The Unlisted). The PM’s Daughter is a political comedy-drama series co-created by Tristram Baumber, Catalina Parkes Pérez (Cat to her friends) is like any other teenager who wants to fight the powers that be. There’s just one complication: her mother is the Prime Minister of Australia. The series is produced by Fremantle.

25 02 2021 – Media release ABC Children’s series Parent Up and The PM’s Daughter greenlit The PM’s Daughter – Tristram Baumber, Lou Sanz, Alice Willison ABC and Screen Australia are pleased to announce two exciting new live action series Parent Up and The PM’s Daughter. Both series will go into production this year and join MaveriX, Itch Season 2 and Hardball Season 2 on ABC ME’s action-packed slate of narrative drama. ABC, 10, Netflix titles funded

Two feature films, three television dramas, one children’s series and one online project share in $5.9 million of production funding. The projects include ABC anthology drama series Fires set during last summer’s devastating bushfires, Season 2 of Frayed and Also funded is Kid’s Drama Dive Club, a 12-part teen mystery drama for Network 10 and Netflix. Screen Australia’s Head of Content Sally Caplan said, “It’s fantastic to kick off 2021 with such a great sample of the premium dramas that have been greenlit across the country. It’s testament to the resilience of the screen industry to have so many projects move into production during such a challenging period.
