Within 30 minutes of opening, 900 people secured appointments and online scheduling closed for COVID-19 vaccines in Saline County after all available slots were filled.
As the county moves into Phase 2 of its COVID-19 vaccination distribution, it set up a scheduling website, open first to citizens 65 and older.
The county said future appointments must be made online and that times will open as vaccine supply becomes available.
Although other population groups are included in Phase 2, the county said that local health experts determined those over 65 are the highest priority group in the phase because of their high mortality and hospitalization rates.
