New Mexico students and teachers are expected to return to the classroom by April 5, full time and in-person, but school leaders feel the decision was rushed.
CBS4 spoke with Las Cruces Public School board members and the Gadsden Independent School District superintendent.
Both said they were not asked for input or briefed in advance on the decision to bring all students back for in-person learning by April 5.
“When they make decisions like this, it feels like whiplash. We spend a tremendous amount of time and effort and then a decision just gets dropped on us,” Travis Dempsey, GISD Superintendent said.
