Shah emphasized the Ram temple issue and alleged family bias within the Yadav family, aiming to consolidate the Hindu vote. Meanwhile, the SP focused on its PDA strategy (backward, Dalits, and minorities) and outreach to its Muslim-Yadav base.
The announcement comes close on the heels of his resignation from Samajwadi Party membership and from the MLC post. Maurya had resigned as the Samajwadi Partys national general secretary on February 13.
