Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA) appointed Dr Tarek Fathey as its new group CEO on Thursday.
Fathey most recently served as the chief operating officer at Mediclinic Middle East.
Salem Al Noaimi, chairman of SEHA, said: “He brings with him expertise that is essential for our commitment to patient-centricity and advancing care.”
SEHA, the largest healthcare network in the UAE, owns and operates all the public hospitals and clinics in the emirate of Abu Dhabi.
Set up to support Abu Dhabi’s wider healthcare sector reform, it is responsible for public healthcare centres and hospitals across the emirate.
SEHA is part of state-owned conglomerate ADQ, one of the region’s largest holding companies with a diverse portfolio of major enterprises spanning key sectors of Abu Dhabi’s non-oil economy.
He holds a bachelor of medicine from the University of Alexandria, Egypt, and a master’s in business administration from the University of Wollongong, Australia.
Seha said Dr Fathey was a seasoned, award-winning healthcare leader who brings 25 years of extensive experience to the role.
