Saleem Iqbal Shervani, a former Samajwadi Party leader, resigned due to the absence of a Muslim nominee for Rajya Sabha polls. He mentioned being approached by leaders from other parties but is not joining any party. Shervani also discussed Rahul Gandhi s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra and the neglect of Muslims by the Samajwadi Party.
"I have frequently discussed the situation of Muslim community with you and tried to convey that the community is feeling neglected along with losing their faith in the party," Shervani wrote.
Days after assuring Kharge that he would join Rahul Yatra either in Amethi or Raebareli, Akhilesh says SP will join it only after finalisation of UP seat-sharing with Cong
