Killeen man dies of COVID-19 as toll rises to 411

One new COVID-19 related death was recorded in Bell County Tuesday, according to the Bell County Public Health District. Dr. Amanda Robison-Chadwell, director of the district, said the death came from a man in his 70s from Killeen — increasing the total number of deaths in the county to 411. The county has seen a total of 21,653 cases of the virus along with 20,906 recoveries. “Our incidence rate remained the same at 87.6 per 100,000 as did our active number of cases at 318,” Robison-Chadwell said. Milam County A new COVID-19 death was also reported Monday in Milam County, County Judge Steve Young said. The county had seen its total deaths rise to 46. Young said the new death was from an older male with no comorbidity.

Top market steer brings bid of $14,000 at Bell County Youth Fair and Livestock Show auction

BELTON — Sydney Hasha, 15, of Salado FFA drew the winning bid of $14,000 for her grand champion market steer in the Saturday auction at the Bell County Expo Center that ended the 2021 Bell County Youth Fair and Livestock Show. Hugh Shine, Johnson Brothers Ford, Mac Haik Dodge, W&B Development, Don Ringler Chevrolet, Smile at the World Orthodontics, Scanio-Harper Funeral Home, Foxworth-Galbraith Lumber, Ellis Heating and Air, JLB Construction, JDK Services, Vista Real Estate and Bell County Commissioner Bobby Whitson. Cash Parker, 13, of Stampede Creek 4-H sold his reserve grand champion market steer for $14,000.
