Small-cap stocks led gains during Monday s trading

Small capitalized stocks bounced higher during Monday’s trading session on the Jamaica Stock Exchange. The activity led the small-cap stocks to rise 1.6 per cent on the day compared to large-cap stocks which inched up one-tenth of the levels of the junior market. The small-cap big gainers were CAC2000 Ltd up 25 per cent to $10.00; Access Financial up 16 per cent to close at $23.92; Community and Workers Jamaica Credit Union shares up 13 per cent to $1.85 and Lasco Financial increased 12 per cent to $2.76. T The day’s biggest declining stock was Salada Foods, a main market stock down 17 per cent to $23.71. The JSE Combined Index advanced by 818.50 points (0.21 per cent) to close at 389,313.50. Some stocks close to 2020 lows

Investors sold some stocks lower on Tuesday towards COVID-19 lows on the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE). 138 Student Living preference shares dipped 32 per cent to close at $4.65. It was followed by ISP Finance which dipped 25 per cent to close at $17.34 and Salada Foods shares which declined 12 per cent to $23.01.  138 preference shares are down to year to date lows and far from one-year highs of $7.91. Meanwhile, ISP Finance shares are trading closer to one-year lows of $12 than highs of $19.50. Salada shares are far from 52-week highs of $37.50 and closer towards lows of $20.   The stocks which gained the most on the day were Eppley preference shares, up 22.5 per cent to close at $7.52, followed by Kingston Properties up 17 per cent to close at $7.25.
