Ambassador: Belarus, Pakistan cooperate closely in various areas

MINSK, 12 February (BelTA) – Pakistan and Belarus maintain close cooperation in various fields, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Pakistan to Belarus Sajjad Haider Khan, who attended the 6th Belarusian People s Congress as a guest, told BelTA.
“Pakistan views Belarus as an important partner,” Ambassador Sajjad Haider Khan said. “Our countries signed 77 agreements and memorandums of understanding. More documents are in the works,” he added.
The pandemic has drastically changed ways of interaction in the world, including international cooperation, Ambassador Sajjad Haider Khan pointed out. He believes that it is important to preserve the progress of previous years while adjusting to the current situation. Big Pakistani business groups are in talks with Minsk Tractor Works over a joint production project in Pakistan, the ambassador noted.
Pakistan seeks Belarus market

KARACHI: Pakistan’s Ambassador in Minsk Sajjad Haider Khan discussed trade and investment opportunities with Honourary Consul of Greece and Romania in Minsk Pavel G Topouzidis, a statement said on Tuesday.
Topouzidis is also the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tabak Invest, and the owner of Korona Chain Stores.
Highlighting the quality and price competitiveness of Pakistani exportable commodities, Khan suggested that the Korona Stores across Belarus should provide Pakistan an opportunity to export home textile products, rice, Himalayan Pink salt products, Kinnow and denim products. Besides, potential for import of tobacco and marble was also discussed.
