ISLAMABAD:
Two officials of the Department of Explosives have been fired over illegal grant of licences to several oil terminals. These officials were involved in the grant of licences to several companies. The accused were allegedly awarding licences without following due procedures. In this regard, the Petroleum Division issued a notification on Wednesday. It had formed a committee, headed by Joint Secretary Sajid Qazi, to probe the allegation of kickbacks for the award of licences for oil terminals. One official was found involved in issuing an illegal licence to a company on fake and unsigned safety and completion certificates. The committee noted that the site was under construction when the licence was granted.
