The pandemic worsened insomnia, but maybe there s hope for sleep

Why not pug puppies or squirrel monkeys?) A University of Arizona sleep expert says insomnia has been on the rise for decades, but anxiety related to the COVID-19 pandemic has made it worse. (Sleep apnea also is on the rise, as people have gained weight.) Dr. Sairam Parthasarathy calls it “coronasomnia.” He’s medical director of the Center for Sleep Disorders at Banner-University Medical Center Tucson and director of the University of Arizona Health Sciences sleep center.
